It was the quality of a motel six or 8 for $350 a night. The rooms were very, very basic. The towels were thin, and there were no other amenities in the room. We asked if we could buy a bottle of water downstairs, but they didn’t have any. They said the top water was drinkable.

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Vanouver is a vibrant city and has a large amount of tourist attractions and outdoor areas to visit. Public transport is easy to use with a single ticket for Sea Bus (Ferry to north Vancouver) Trains and buses. Would recommend a day pass to use for all three at a very reasonable cost.

Some of our favorite destinations were Stanley park, Capilano Suspension bridge, and grouse mountain. We also enjoyed walking around downtown, taking the ferry to Granville island and Kitsilano Beach and the maritime museum, and checking out a variety of food options.

Easy city to get around, the Hop On Hop Off takes you to all the beautiful sites, like Canada Place where you can see all the cruise ships and then walk over to Gastown and see the steam clock. Also beautiful Stanley Park. There are other things to do, and wonderful restaurants with terrific food.

This is a beautiful city with beautiful views of the mountains and sea. There are cultural, sport and shopping facilities in the area. Stanley park is well worth a visit particularly to walk or bicycle and there are lots of cycle hire shops nearby for the purpose.
China town isn't as vibrant as it was last time we visited over 20 years ago, confirmed by the bus driver who spoke about its decline. He also advised that we shouldn't walk between China town and the Steam clock destination for personal safety. Otherwise I walked alone around my hotel and felt safe.
There is a good transport system around Vancouver although I generally walked locally to Stanley park, to the Waterfront and the downtown shopping area.
Excellent location in downtown, a lot of restaurants in walking distance. Tiny kitchenette with a microwave oven, fridge and dishwasher. I had takeout food everyday and used the microwave to heat up the leftovers. Very convenient. Room was spacious, clean, with a working desk. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe during my stay.
Breakfast was mediocre but very convenient. Staff was friendly. Secured indoor parking garage, which made me feel safe. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Vancouver downtown!
A very well appointed suite with kitchenette and free wifi and secure parking. Also includes a free breakfast every morning which was great. This location is close to many dining and shopping venues. A ten minute cab ride took you anywhere in downtown Vancouver to most venues($10). David at the front desk is a great ambassador to this hotel, very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful….he made our stay one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. l will stay here again when in Vancouver.
Very friendly Staff
The Doorman are very friendly and always help with whatever you need.
Rooms are always clean and Spacious.
Great location, walking distance to coal harbor, the best restaurants, the mall and the Sky train.
There's nothing bad to say about this hotel, I stay here for every work or personal trip to Vancouver.
Check-ins are easy and efficient. They have all the amenities you need.
A must stay in Vancouver. 5 star !
Loved the Wedgewood hotel. Bed was extremely comfortable decor tasteful in keeping with the style of the hotel. The spa treatment I experienced was exceptional with a highly capable therapist. There is a lovely bar where we enjoyed bar food on the evening of our arrival which was ideal after the fatigue of a long haul flight. The location at the centre of downtown Vancouver is a major plus in getting to know the city
Excellent location, right across from Yaletown metro, super easy to get to/from Vancouver airport, although be aware if driving there is very limited parking at the front of the hotel, so its a bit of a drop and dash if you need to unload luggage. Surrounding area also has plenty of great restaurants, and its a short walk down to false river ferries. Room was also comfortable.
Great location. We did not have breakfast we left the hotel at 4.30 AM for the airport. But we were very disappointed with the flying with Flair airlines [2 hours delay in lax and 5 hours delay in Vancouver, We receive a voucher for $10 each as a compensation for food. This was not acceptable and are requesting some refunds.
Thank you
The Sylvia is an iconic landmark in Vancouver that reminds one of its long history in the area. It is not as modern in its decor as some downtown hotels, but for us that is part of its charm. It was clean, quiet and close to wonderful English Bay. It was great to finally stay there, even for one night.
The hotel is a fabulous remodel of the earlier Vancouver stock exchange which means all the historic ceiling decorations and lobby are there, but the rooms are ultra modern and comfortable. Perfect location a couple of blocks from Canada Place and near all the stores. Great place for a fair price.
Opus Hotel is located in an excellent neighbourhood ~ close to downtown Vancouver, surrounded by many eateries and public transport (the airport train station is just across the street). Our room was spacious, well lit and comfortable and serviced daily. Staff were friendly & helpful.
The property is clean and well located. Most of the important Vancouver attractions can be reached walking. The rooms are large, the bed comfortable and a good coffee and tea selection is available. The hotel is also associated with one of the best restaurant in the city!
Prime location in downtown Vancouver. Able to walk everywhere within a reasonable distance. Felt safe day and night in the hotel and the area around the hotel. The room had a small fridge to put leftovers and breakfast treats/drinks. Entire premises was very clean.
The downtown Vancouver location was just what we wanted. It was within a few blocks of the Waterfront train station, so the ride from the airport was easy and convenient. The room had been recently updated, and although it was small, the bathroom was outstanding.
The room was great and location of hotel is one of the best in downtown Vancouver. The room was modern with a nice sized tv. Reception staff were attentive ,nice and professional. The toto toilet was a nice luxury in the room.
Enjoyed our stay at the Barclay.A reasonable price for the city of Vancouver.
We used the SkyTrain to come in from the airport and then walked down Robson Street to the hotel.
Many eating establishments nearby.
The hotel was so close to Downtown Vancouver and not far to walk to the Waterfront.
The restaurant was ideal for a love,y quiet and delicious breakfast and our waiter was brilliantl
I had breakfast at the hotel. It was fantastic. I've been to a couple of places for breakfast during my stay in Vancouver and one I had in this hotel was the best!
Great location in Vancouver downtown and very convenient access to the Skytrain station. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown (L).
